Weather-normalised heating
Heating-only consumption ÷ heating degree days (HDD 18/18, KNMI Arcen + Horst, both ~15 km from Venlo). Summer baseline (hot water + cooking, or non-heating electricity) is subtracted first. Lines closer to zero = more efficient. The 2026 line dropping below earlier years for gas — and rising for electricity — is the hybrid heat pump.

Data starts May 2021. Watch the trailing-12 line drop in two waves: the insulation work (~2022–2023) and the hybrid heat-pump install (Dec 2025). Months with HDD < 30 are dropped from the YoY view (too little signal); the trailing-12 view sums the full year so summer noise cancels.
